Caribbean Solidarity Network - Film Screening "The 9th Floor"

On October 15, the Caribbean Solidarity Network will be screening the documentary "The 9th Floor" and hosting a public forum. The documentary tells the story of the Sir George Williams Affair, where a group of Caribbean students occupied the computer lab of the university to protest incidents of racism on campus. The protest would go on to radically impact race relations in Canada, but also deeply influence the Black Power Movement in the Caribbean. The goal of the event is to raise awareness of Canada's connection to the Caribbean Radical Tradition, and spark a conversation about how to strengthen the political voice and organization of our community.
